2012, the year of yoyo weather?

Yeah, here we are, yo-yoing into July.. so far this year we’ve had a warm January, a very cold February, a warm March, April gave us what you might normally expect in January, May was relatively normal, and so was June until the last week when – with the formal arrival of Summer – temperatures rocketed hitting records for several locations in the Southern half of the Peninsula. We had close to 35ºC in Cercedilla on Tuesday-Wednesday (26-27 June)* which is about as hot as it gets locally, but just four days later temperatures dropped to a maximum 20ºC and on Monday 2nd of July a minimum temperature of 6.9ºC. Quite a variation, wouldn’t you agree?

* Local records give 34.2ºC for June 26.

About coldspringdays

Éireannach is ea mé, i mo chonaí insan Spáinn. Rugadh mé i lár na tuaithe, ar feadh blianta bhí mé ag teitheadh uaithi, i bhfad as an tuath, ach sa deireadh d'fhill mé, ar ais go dtí an tuath.. An Irishman am I, settled in Spain. Born was I in the middle of the country, for years I ran from it, far from the country, but in the end I returned, back to the country..
